A Familiar Face, Now in Our Kitchen
Some collaborations begin with a chef. This one began with a familiar face.
Miin Wei Looi had been a regular at Doju long before appearing on MasterChef Australia 2026. We had watched his cooking evolve from the flavours he grew up with in Penang — and when he stepped onto the screen, it was exciting to see where that journey would take him.
Now, we're bringing him into our kitchen.
Originally from Penang, Miin moved to Melbourne in 2012 and taught himself to cook through the food he knew from home: the flavours of Malaysian hawker stalls, family dishes, and the memories that come with them.
Malaysian Meets Korean
For one night, Miin and Mika will cook side by side at Doju, bringing together the flavours that have shaped their respective kitchens.
Miin's cooking is deeply Malaysian, while Mika's approach draws from Korean tradition and Australian produce. Together, they'll explore where those two perspectives meet — with a dinner built around good ingredients, thoughtful cooking, and plenty of room to have some fun.
We've already had a taste of what Miin is bringing to the table.

After a year of collaborations with chefs and kitchens from Melbourne and beyond, this will be our final collaboration of the year.
