Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards 2025


We’re honoured to share that Doju has been awarded Two Glasses in Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards 2025 — a recognition that celebrates the nation’s most thoughtful and distinctive drinks programs.


What this recognition means to us

To be acknowledged among Australia’s best is deeply humbling. It affirms that creativity and restraint can coexist — that a wine list shaped by curiosity and cultural nuance can still speak to a wider audience.

It also means so much to be recognised as the first modern Korean restaurant in Victoria to receive this honour. Creating something new — weaving Korean elements into contemporary dining — is never the easy path. But it is the path that inspires us, and we’re grateful to meet so many who share this belief.

This award belongs to everyone who has joined us on this journey — our team, our suppliers, and every guest who has shared a table with us. The spirit behind our list will continue to evolve, guided by the same question that started it all:

What if we approached drinking the way we approach cooking — with respect, openness, and joy?


A dialogue between cultures

At Doju, food and drink come together as expressions of connection. Across cultures, sharing a meal or a drink has always been a way to gather, to celebrate, and to understand one another — a social ritual that transcends language.

Our drinks program builds on this spirit. It explores how Korean ideas of balance and fermentation can converse with Australia’s dynamic wine culture, creating moments that feel both grounded and new. Whether through a glass of expressive local wine, a crafted cocktail, or an alcohol-free ferment made in-house, each pour is meant to accompany conversation — and the quiet joy of being together.


The philosophy behind our drinks

Fermentation, maturation, and respect for natural flavours are the cornerstones of Korean cuisine — and the inspiration for our drinks program. Many of our featured wines are made with minimal intervention, allowing nature and time to speak for themselves; others are crafted through time-honoured techniques, reflecting deep skill and heritage.

Our approach embraces both — wines of clarity and character, alongside handcrafted cocktails and alcohol-free creations that share the same respect for fermentation and technique. Each is chosen to complement our dishes, many of which reimagine Korean elements in new ways using Australia’s seasonal produce.
